What is the MRC?

The MRC (MechCommander Review Circuit) is a structured format for competitive gameplay, including Match Play, Ranked Play, and Tournaments.

What is Match Play?

Match Play provides a standard format to ensure a balanced game. Players know the ruleset and list construction in advance for a fair competition.

What is Ranked Play?

Ranked Play follows the MRC format, allowing players to improve their Faction Rank and Standings. Match results are submitted to MRC Command for ranking updates.

How does Ranked Play differ from Tournaments?

Ranked Play consists of individual matches scheduled at players' convenience, while Tournaments are multi-game events organized by approved MRC Event Organizers.

What is Faction Ranking?

Faction Ranking tracks player participation within the MRC, linked to the faction chosen at registration. It does not restrict gameplay to only that faction.

Can I change my faction ranking?

Yes, but your score will reset to zero each time you switch factions.

What is Combat Score?

Combat Score measures player skill and performance, helping to match players of similar skill levels in events that use this metric.

What is a Season?

A Season is a yearly gameplay cycle. Each new season allows MRC Command to refine the core ruleset based on community feedback and statistics.

How do I participate?

Join the MRC community both locally and globally. Play Ranked Games with MRC-registered opponents following the core rules.

How do I become an Event Organizer (EO)?

Follow the MRC Ruleset and submit an event request to MRC Command via DM or email. We will help ensure compliance for official standings.

Can I use MegaMek for Ranked Games?

Yes, as long as both players are registered with MRC. The submission process differs from in-person games, so check with MRC Command.
